Decide your gift

There are different ways you can leave your charitable gift to Amaranth, and be sure your wishes will be followed after you are gone. Including a charity in your will is a great way to leave a lasting legacy and shows you care about the vital work that charities do. At Amaranth we understand that during your lifetime you may not have been able to give as generously as you may have liked, so bequeathing a percentage of your estate, a an exact sum of money or other assets is an extremely generous way to give back.

Different types of gifts:

    • You can choose to a leave a share of your estate, also known as a residuary gift. It could be the whole residue of your estate, or a percentage of your estate after first leaving gifts to your loved ones and payment of any financial commitments, funeral arrangements etc.
    • You may choose to leave a fixed sum of money, also known as a pecuniary gift (an exact sum of money). With a pecuniary gift, it can be money, property, stocks and/or shares.
    • A specific gift, also known as a specific bequest. This could be in the form of real estate, or an item such as art, or jewellery. This item is sold with the funds supporting our foundation.

We recommend discussing the type of gift you leave with a solicitor, to ensure that your choice best suits you and your estate.

Charitable gifts in Wills of property, stocks and shares are exempt from capital gains tax.
