At Amaranth, we believe in the power of community and the impact of giving back. Our Community Meals program is more than just a meal; it’s a way for you to contribute to a larger purpose. By donating $30 towards 5 chef-prepared meals, you are not only enjoying a nutritious, delicious meal but also supporting our ongoing social impact program.

The funds raised through your donation (which is tax deductible) directly contributes to the sustainability of our initiatives, empowering us to continue supporting local communities. Every dollar donated goes back into the program, helping us provide essential services, resources, and support to those who need it most.

Ensuring access to affordable, nutritious meals is crucial for the well-being of individuals in the aged care and disability sectors. For many, particularly those with limited mobility or resources, preparing meals can be a challenge. Offering affordable meal options not only provides essential nourishment but also supports dignity and independence. Proper nutrition is vital for everyone to maintain energy, manage chronic conditions, and support overall health.

Amaranth Chef, Liam Whyte, is championing the affordable meals program too ease the financial burden on families and carers, allowing them to focus on other essential care needs. Our Community Meals program ultimately supports both physical health and emotional well-being, promoting inclusivity and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food, regardless of their financial situation.

A combination of 5 of the below meals. Please note that the meals come in the pack of 5. You do not get to select your 5 meals:

  • Chicken Cacciatore with Rice
  • Curried Sausages
  • Spaghetti Bolognaise
  • Chicken Breast with Pumpkin Puree, Corn & Gravy
  • Pork Stir fry Noodles & Vegetables
  • Roast Chicken & Veg
  • Chocolate Panna Cotta with Toblerone Crumble
  • Apple Turnover

How it works.

Every week, Liam will create chef-prepared ready-to-eat nutritious meals that will be frozen to ensure convenience and quality.

These are packaged in take-away containers in individual portions, ready for re-heating.

Donation is $30 for 5 delicious take-home meals.

Ordering is Simple!:

  1. Ordering: Place your order by calling Amaranth on 02 6033 1738 (online ordering coming soon).
  2. Pick Up: Meals are available for pickup at the Amaranth Foundation every Monday & Thursday between 9.30am & 3.00pm.
  3. Payment: In cash when you pick up your meals (online payment gateway coming soon). No payment, no food.
  4. Receipt: A tax deductible receipt is available at time of collection.

How to Defrost and Reheat Your Community Meals:

To enjoy your community meals at their best, simply follow these easy steps:

Defrosting: Remove the meal from the freezer and place it in the fridge for 24 hours to thaw. If you’re in a hurry, you can defrost in the microwave on the ‘defrost’ setting.

Reheating: Once defrosted, it is recommended to transfer the meal to a plate or bowl.
For microwave: Reheat in microwave for 1minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes, or until warmed through.
