The Enrolled Nurse (EN) position is responsible to provide high quality care and support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in accordance with individual client care plans. We offer the opportunity to genuinely make a positive and meaningful impact on those you care for. The EN will always act to protect the client’s privacy, confidentiality, and individual choice by providing the delivery of direct care activities as allocated by the RN. The EN will maintain accurate documentation and recognising and reporting changes in the health status of clients.

Specific Job Responsibilities 

Client focused High Quality Care 
  • Deliver a caring and holistic approach to care service provision that assists patients with their daily routines, such as showering, toileting, dressing, eating, hydrating, treatments, communication, mobility, medication, and exercise regimes.  
  • Ensure clients established daily habits, preferences, customs, and beliefs are facilitated and encouraged where possible. 
  • Ensure the participants rights to dignity, privacy and confidentiality are always maintained. 
  • Ensure progress notes and documentation is maintained for accurate and detailed participant records. 
  • Building effective relationships with patients through clear communication and empathy. 
  • Demonstrate genuine passion for providing high quality care to all participants. 
Work Health & Safety 
  • Adhere to WHS practices to minimise the risk of workplace injury and illness. 
  • Ensure all incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses, accidents, injuries, or hazards are immediately actioned, documented and reported in accordance with organisational guidelines.  
  • Respond appropriately to situations of risk or potential risk to the health and safety and wellbeing of participants.

Qualifications: Diploma of Nursing (or equivalent)

Physical Requirements 
Amaranth Foundation endeavours to provide a safe working environment for all staff.  

The EN role requires the employee to undertake a number of physical demands. You are required to ensure that you are fit to safely perform the requirements of your position and any duties that you may be directed to carry out from time-to-time. Successful applicants will be required to sign as part of their employment contract, the position description to confirm their ability to perform the physical requirements of this position.  

This role requires that you perform your duties which may include: 

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, crouching, and driving.  

The role also incorporates psychosocial demands such as: 

  • Dealing with distressed people who maybe highly emotional, unhappy, depress and or who may require emergency care. 

Environmental demands of the role may include but not be limited to: 

  • Environmental / background noise. 
  • Confined spaces, or partially enclosed spaces. 
  • Biological hazards such as exposure to body fluids, bacteria, infection diseases requiring PPE.

Reporting Arrangements & Accountability 

Amaranth Foundation’s voluntary skills-based Board is responsible to people with disabilities and their families and care givers, funding bodies and the community for all aspects of service delivery and management of the Foundation. This responsibility is delegated through the Chief Executive Officer to staff.

The Enrolled Nurse reports to the CEO.
