Reiki is an alternative form of healing that arose in Japan in the late 1800’s. It is a complementary therapy. It is safe, painless, non-invasive, does not interfere with other medical treatments and it promotes balance of the body, mind and spirit.

Reiki involves the transfer of universal energy through the laying on of hands. Reiki brings peace and calm to the body and mind. It helps to restore and balance the body’s natural energy systems allowing the opportunity for the body to heal itself.

Chair Yoga is good for all people but is a wonderful option for seniors and those with restricted movement. The support and safety of a chair provides those suffering from injuries or conditions such as chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, Osteoporosis and multiple sclerosis, the same benefits as traditional yoga through the movement of their body and breath.

Slow Vinyasa Yoga Flow

Thursday’s: 1.45pm – 2.45pm

Slow Flow Yoga is a low impact practice. Postures are held for longer and are practiced at a slower pace than traditional Vinyasa yoga. There is a strong emphasis on the connection of the movement of the body and the breath. Slow flow gradually warms up the muscles and joints, it allows for the body and mind to remain in a state of rhythmic calm.

The slow pace is cooling on the body and mind. The slower movement also assists with the postures to be practiced with correct alignment. The benefits of slow flow are abundant. Regular practice helps with joint mobility, stretches and strengthens the muscles, benefits the major organs, improves digestion and circulation and helps to reduce stress and anxiety.
